The Caribbean Medical Student Association (CMSA) joined the New York Medical College Chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) to host a compelling Mental Health Awareness Workshop on April 12, 2025, at Beczak Environmental Education Center.
Taking the spotlight was Dr. Dimitri Francois, Haitian psychiatrist and mental health advocate, whose cultural insights cut deep into Caribbean and Black community stigmas around therapy, burnout, and imposter syndrome. Dr. Francois delivered practical tools, boundary-setting, mindfulness rooted in heritage, and peer support networks, arming attendees to thrive amid difficulties.
CMSA bridges culture and care—one conversation at a time. 🧠🌿
